San Juan girls golf begins season in Moab, Green River

The San Juan High School girls golf team opened their season on March 4 in Moab. The Lady Broncos scored 526 to finish fourth among the five Region 15 teams at the tournament.
Marley Decker led San Juan with a round of 121, while teammate Jordan Jones shot a 126. Olha Krukouse scored a 139 and Jessie Black carded a 140 to round out the top four and the team scoring.
In addition to their team scores in Moab, Katy Russell shot a 143 and Evela Knight scored 152. The girls were right back in action the very next day with a trip to Green River March 5, improving their team total to 514.
San Juan was once again fourth, but they finished just eight strokes behind second place Gunnison at the Green River event.
Jordan Jones led the Lady Broncos with a round of 120, Zaya Olsen shot 127, Marley Decker 132, and Brodelyn Pincock 135 to round out the players contributing to the team score.
Olha Krukouse carded a 140 for San Juan and Katy Russell shot 144. The girls are back on the course this Thursday, March 20 with North Sevier hosting Region 15 teams at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield.
