San Juan girls golf closes regular season with five matches in four weeks

The San Juan High School girls golf team has played steadily since mid March, traveling to golf on a new course every week in that time period.
The Lady Broncos traveled southwest to the warm environs in St. George on March 24 to play a Region 18 match at the beautiful Cedar Ridge Golf Course.
They scored 541 to finish fifth as a team. Jordan Jones led the way with a round of 113. Olha Krukovska shot a 125, Sariah Sweetin carded a 151, and Dine’a Charles rounded out the scoring positions with a 152.
San Juan hosted a region match at the Hideout Golf Course in Monticello on April 7 where they shot their best team round of the season with a 483.
Jones shot her second-best round of the season with a 107, Krukovska shot a season-best 109, Ameillia Sopena carded a 132, and Charles got a season-best 135.
The very next day, April 8, the girls stayed close to home but traveled to Moab to play the Moab Golf Course with Grand County hosting. The team shot a 520 in that match.
Jones again led the team with her second straight round of 107. Krukovska came in with a 111, Rose Kartchner hit a 148, and Charles carded a 154.
The steady pace continued for the Lady Broncos when they traveled to Sterling to play at the Palisade Golf Course on April 14. The team came home with a round of 549 in that one.
Individually, Jones shot 127, Krukovska got a 131, Sweetin carded a season-best 137, and Kartchner hit a 154.
This past Tuesday, April 21 San Juan got a preview of the state championship course with a trip to West Jordan to play the Mountain View Golf Course.
With only three girls making the trip the team did not register a team score at the match, but Jones shot a 112 individually, Krukovska carded a 116, and Charles hit a 148.
The Lady Broncos played in the Region 18 Championship at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield on Tuesday, April 28 after the San Juan Record print deadline.
The 2026 2A Utah State Girls Golf Tournament is set for May 12 at the Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan.
