San Juan girls golf team concludes season at state

The San Juan High School girls golf team traveled to West Jordan on Tuesday, May 12 to play in the 2026 2A Utah State Championship at the Mountain View Golf Course.
The Broncos came home with an 18-hole team score of 526 in 14th place. South Sevier won the state championship with a 361, four strokes ahead of Grand County.
Jordan Jones led the way for San Juan, closing the round tied for 23rd with Beaver’s Mone Williams with a 31-over-par 103.
Olha Krukovska carded a 53-over 125, finishing 55th for the Broncos. Dine’a Charles was third among the San Juan teammates with a 145 and Rose Kartchner rounded out the scoring positions with a 153.
Prior to the state tournament the girls finished fifth in the Region 18 Championships at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield on April 28. They shot 514 as a team, 22 strokes behind Parowan.
Ohla Krukovska led the way for the Broncos with a 36-over-par and season-best 108. Jordan Jones carded a 39-over 111, Dine’a Charles came in with a 138, and Rose Kartchner shot 157.
Jones led the team this season with an average of 109.87 strokes per round. Krukovska was second with a 114.36, and Ameillia Sopena averaged 130.4 strokes.
Evelia Knight had a 138.92-stroke average. Charles averaged 140.35 per round, Sariah Sweetin 141.03, Kartchner 151.07, and Makayla Shumway 164.32.
