San Juan track and field team takes 11th at Farm Bureau Invitational in Price

The San Juan High School track and field team traveled to Price on Saturday, March 16 for the Farm Bureau Invitational at Carbon High School. The Broncos scored a combined 32 points to finish 11th among 21 teams.
Almost all of San Juan’s points came in the field events. Sophomore Tripp Palmer led the way with an individual championship in the high jump. He cleared six feet, two inches to bring home ten points for the Broncos.
Junior Savannah Richmond was third in the girls discus, scoring six points. Sophomore Keezie Flannery got third in the girls high jump, also scoring six points. She cleared 4-11.0 with her jump.
Senior Jared Burke got seventh in the boys discus and eighth in the shot put to collect three points for San Juan. The girls 4x400 relay team finished seventh to score two points and the boys took eighth for the final Bronco point on the day.
Other notable San Juan finishes included Savannah Richmond, 11th in the girls shot put with a distance of 27-7.0, and Brigham Nielson, 14th in the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 11.79.
The Broncos are back home this week to host Green River, Monticello, Monument Valley, Whitehorse, and Carbon in the San Juan County Championship.
