Head Coach Josh Keyes: “Jackson’s life revolves around two things: baseball and hitting. He doesn’t just play the game – he lives it.
“Jackson has an exceptional understanding of the sport, from its rich history to its subtle nuances, and every time he walks onto the diamond, he steps into his element.
“Nowhere is he more at home than in the batter’s box, locked in for a competitive at-bat with one clear goal: to crush the baseball.
“Jackson’s success is no accident. He has studied his swing with precision, pounded through millions of batting practice reps, maintained a strict high-protein diet, and committed himself to the weight room – all to become a better hitter.
“His plate discipline is elite, as shown by his high walk totals and remarkable on-base percentage. This season, Jackson ranked in the top ten statewide in home runs (6), slugging percentage (1.052), and on-base percentage (.609) – a testament to both his love for the game and the relentless work he puts into it.
“One of his most memorable accomplishments this season wasn’t just statistical, it was structural. After breaking two windows beyond the right field fence during batting practice, San Juan School District was forced to install orange metal mesh window guards on those windows to prevent further damage.
“Unfortunately for taxpayers, Jackson broke his third window during the final region game of the season against North Summit with a monster first inning homer. That window was beyond the centerfield fence and had been deemed not within reach.”
