Head Coach Jens Nielson: “Jake did not lead quietly. He was very loud with his leadership, and that was a good thing. Jake doesn’t like to lose and he will give every possible effort to get a win. In my opinion he is hands-down the best third baseman we have ever had at San Juan.
“He is gritty, he is tough, and he will put his body on the line to make a play. It was so fun watching him make highlight-reel plays on a regular basis. We will miss having Jake’s leadership on our team.”

Additional Comments from San Juan Head Coach Jens Nielson
This year was so much fun to coach and these players were at the core of why it was successful and why it was so much fun. Each one of them could have easily made First Team All-State. They are dynamic players whose impact will be hard to replace.
From what we gathered from the data available, this year’s squad set a San Juan High School record for home runs in a season with 27. The group of five All-State boys led the charge, contributing 21 of those 27 blasts, with the other two seniors – Brody Bilbao and Jaiten Knight – hitting the other six.
Those are impressive numbers from some very good baseball players. We wish you guys the best of luck. This season will always be one of the highlights of my coaching career. Congratulations, boys!
