Coach Ivan Mack: “Jaeden is one of the best and most unsuspecting athletes you will ever come across. He has a quiet, reserved nature but when you see him in action competing he is anything but that. He has blazing speed, is exceptionally skilled, and is a bold competitor with a desire to win. He is a multi-sport athlete, participating in four different sports this year (football, basketball, baseball, and track).
“In the classroom Jaeden is dedicated ad knows his purpose. He is someone other kids find easy to follow. He was a top finisher in the 100 meter (eighth place) and 200 meter (fifth), and was a critical first leg on the state champion 4x100 relay team. In and out of the classroom Jaeden demonstrates special qualities and most importantly he is a good friend to many. It’s been a great pleasure for me to work with Jaeden Camacho this year.”

Coach Ivan Mack: “Carter is an extraordinary student athlete whose dedication and talent have earned him All-State honors in both football and track. Carter is always fun to watch on the football field and track because just when you thought he was at full speed you could see him shift into another gear and accelerate past his competitors. Carter has a quiet dignity about him and is not going to be verbally loud, but with his skills, abilities and speed he is very loud and makes his presence known in competition.
“Carter was consistent in making game-changing plays to elevate the team. The bigger the moment is where he really rose to the occasion. He proved this in playing a critical part in elevating the 4x100 relay team to a state championship and a new school record as the second leg of the team. His leadership at Monticello High will be missed on both the playing field and in the classroom. It has been an honor to work with Carter Rogers this year.”

Coach Ivan Mack: “Josh has skills that pay the bills. In the classroom or in competition his good nature, humor, and competitive drive made it always fun to be around him. He is just an all-around great kid. As a returning track athlete, we all had big plans for him to recapture some of the glory he had the previous year in the long jump. As fate would have it, a broken tailbone limited his ability to jump and land in the sand. He did not let his circumstance stop him and instead put his attention and focus in the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 4x100 relay.
“As the season progressed his times significantly dropped and he easily punched a ticket in four different events at the state track meet. Josh’s dedication and hard work made him a top finisher in the two individual sprints and he ended up a state champion in the 4x100 relay as a critical third leg. Between his good nature, determination to succeed, and leadership qualities Josh has a bright future ahead of him. I feel very fortunate to have been able to coach and get to know Josh Morrison this year.”

Coach Ivan Mack: “Tavon is a true leader at Monticello High School in and out of the classroom and a great example of someone the other kids can look up to. He is exceptional in everything he does. As an All-State running back in football, wrestling, and now track he has demonstrated all the qualities you want in an athlete. Whether in school or playing sports, Tavon chooses to be the best he can be and is always looking for ways to improve.
Tavon has been a role model for student athletes not only in our school, but across the state. His name is known. It’s no surprise he was knocking on the door on every Monticello High School sprint record and was a big part as the anchor leg in winning a state championship in the 4x100 relay, handily taking down the school record. He was also a top state finisher in the 100 and 200-meter races (fourth place in both). I feel very blessed to have been able to work with Tavon Black during his senior year.”
