Team Ferda takes Midnight Madness title

The annual Shane Warenski Memorial Midnight Madness Softball Tournament has been a staple of the Blanding Fourth of July Celebration for many years and it serves as an excellent fundraiser for the San Juan High School baseball team.
Twenty teams vied for the 2025 championship this past Thursday and Friday, July 3-4. Though 20 teams is slightly less than the normal amount that sign up, tournament director Jens Nielson reports that it was still a very fun tournament with a lot of good teams.
Lyle Northern Electric (LNE) and Team Ferda played for the championship. LNE entered the championship games undefeated which meant Team Ferda had the challenge of having to win two games to secure the title.
In Game one, Team Ferda ten-run-ruled LNE to draw even with their opponent. The second championship game was much closer, and it took two extra innings to decide.
Ultimately, Team Ferda was able to pull off the two-game sweep, earning the win and the 2025 Midnight Madness championship.
