Three was a crowd on Sunday, August 3 at the Hideout Amateur.
In difficult conditions the trio of Jim Futch, Tyler Weight, and Josh Seow all finished the 36-hole golf tournament at 6-over-par 150 to share the 2025 championship.
After battling through dry, windy conditions during Saturday’s first round, all three played stellar golf on Sunday to get their share of first place.
The 70-year-old Futch followed up a first-round 79 with the tournament’s only under-par round with a 71 on Sunday.
It was the Williams, AZ resident’s first Hideout Amateur experience and he said the final round was made easier with a day of course knowledge.
Weight, who won Friday’s two-man Shootout with partner Zac Hansen, had rounds of 76 and 74 and Seow rebounded with an even-par round of 72 after a 78 during Saturday’s first round.
Seow and Weight, who have played both the Shootout and Amateur for Several years, are both from Utah County. Worn out after three straight days of pressure golf, all three were fine not going to a playoff.
Several local golfers excelled in the 118-player tournament with Josh Keyes of Monticello and Marx Powell of Bluff winning the gross division of their flights.
Rob Wilcox of Blanding and Utah County’s Dustin McBride took the top spot in the net division of the Championship Flight.
