Whitehorse Raiders boys and girls teams go combined 3-0 last week

The Whitehorse girls dominated Navajo Pine in a win over the Warriors on December 13. The Lady Raiders opened the game building a 29-1 lead after the first quarter, and built on that lead taking a 57-7 lead into halftime.
The Lady Raiders scored nine more in the third quarter to take a 66-7 lead into the final frame with the Raiders earnings a 76-7 victory.
The Raiders brought the same energy in another road game the following day defeating the San Juan girls basketball team 67-38 on December 14.
The Lady Raiders are headed to a tournament this weekend ahead of the winter break.
The Whitehorse boys basketball team was also undefeated the past week defeating Navajo Pine in a 61-60 nail bitter.
Despite trailing 18-7 after one quarter the Raiders came rallying back 26-20 at halftime and battled in the second half. In the final minute of the game the Raiders found themselves down 60-55. The Raiders worked the ball around the perimeter with Elam Ettsity finding Lyric Phillips in the corner to hit a three to make the score 60-58.
The Raiders called a timeout to give themselves an opportunity to make a play. Out of the timeout, two Raiders Dominic Dance and Tristan Black trapped the Navajo Pine player leading to a steal.
Shortly after Dance passed to Phillips who drained a three to give the Raiders a 61-60 lead. The Raiders defense held strong in the final seconds to earn the 61-60 win.
Whitehorse was led by Phillips who finished with 29 points. Dance added 9, Kalin Tohonnie scored 7, Black had 6, Larenz Tsosie had five, Adam Joe had three, and Etsitty scored two.
