Whitehorse teams go 3-0

Whitehorse boys and girls teams went 3-0 last week, winning convincingly in all contests.
The Whitehorse girls basketball team earned two road victories last week, beating San Juan on January 16 and Northwest on January 18.
The lady Raiders jumped to an 18-7 lead after one quarter, and held a 26-17 lead at halftime.
The Raiders offense poured in 26 points in the third quarter to take a 52-26 lead after three quarters. San Juan made a late push but the Raiders earned a 64-44 win in Blanding.
The Raiders were led in scoring by Keiarra Martin who had 24 points in the effort, Heidi Clark scored 10 and Kayla Mitchell had eight points. LaMyia Benally and Shunbaah Begay each had six points, with Alyssa Eltsosie adding in three points. Shayla Miller, Kadence Lansing, and Dakotah Cly all had two points while Harmony Thomas scored one.
On Friday, Whitehorse earned a victory over Northwest 70-19.
The Raiders were led by Thomas who scored 14 points, while Laila Etsitty scored 10 and Martin added nine. Begay scored eight, Mitchell had seven with Benally and Miller each scoring six points. Cly scored four, Eltsosie had three, Clark had two and Lansing scored one.
The Whitehorse Raiders boys basketball team traveled to Shiprock, NM to take on Northwest in the only Raider’s boys game of the week on January 18.
Whitehorse jumped to a 18-8 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 36-12 at halftime. The Raiders lead grew again to 57-27 after the third quarter before winning the game by a final score of 72-33.
The Raiders were led in scoring by Lyric Phillips who had 28 points including seven made three-point shots. Larenz Tsosie scored 15, with Tristan Black scoring 10 points.
Aiden Hamm and Adam Joe each had five points, while Elam Etsitty scored three points.
Dominic Dance, Kalin Tohonnie, and Kelan Dee each had two points in the win.
The Whitehorse boys basketball team hosted Green River on January 23 after the San Juan Record print deadline.
