After tough season-opening losses to Tohatchi, NM and Monument Valley on August 28 and 29 the Whitehorse volleyball team rebounded nicely to earn three straight wins this past week.
The Lady Raiders swept Shiprock Northwest at home on Tuesday, September 3, notched a 3-1 win in Green River on Thursday, September 5, and closed out the week with a straight-sets win at Pinnacle on Friday, September 6.
Green River won the first set in their September 5 match, but Whitehorse rallied impressively from that point to secure the win. Their 25-6 domination in the third set was key to ultimately crushing the Lady Pirates.
Whitehorse is 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 19 play after the wins over Green River and Pinnacle. The Utah High School Activities Association will release the volleyball RPI standings on Wednesday, September 11.
The Lady Raiders aren’t set to hit the court again until Wednesday, September 18 when they’ll host Green River in a rematch of their September 5 contest.
