The Whitehorse High School volleyball team finished the regular season with an 11-10 overall record and entered the 1A Utah State Tournament as the #14 seed.
They hosted a play-in game to open the tournament on Wednesday, October 22 against a very familiar foe – Region 19 rival and 19th-seeded Green River.
The Lady Raiders had no problems with the Lady Pirates on their home court, sweeping the match 25-16, 25-20, and 25-15 to advance to the second round of the tournament at Utah Valley University in Orem.
In that second-round matchup on Friday, October 24 they took on a very opponent in third-seeded St. Joseph who went on to finish third in the state.
The Lady Jayhawks won the opening two sets 25-11 and 25-13 before Whitehorse rallied for an impressive 25-20 win in the third set. But St. Joseph closed out the Lady Raiders with a 25-12 win in the third set.
The loss dropped Whitehorse into the sixth-place bracket where they wouldn’t have much of a reprieve. They faced #11 Milford in a Friday afternoon matchup that would be decided in a best-of-three format.
Unfortunately the Lady Raiders were slow out of the gate and suffered a 25-17 loss in the first set. They fought valiantly in set two but were unable to overcome the deficit, falling 25-23.
Whitehorse ends the season with a 12-12 overall record. They were 4-4 in Region 19 play, finishing third behind Monticello and Monument Valley.
The Lady Raiders are looking forward to a very promising 2026 season as they will be returning all but two graduating senior from their 2025 roster.
