Whitehorse wrestling team back to action after lengthy delay

The Whitehorse High School wrestling team hasn’t had an exceptionally busy schedule to this point, but they opened the new year this past Saturday, January 13 with their first tournament in almost two months.
They traveled to Kirtland, NM to compete in the Bronco Invitational, and though they didn’t make a huge impact on the final team standings they did score a solid 48 points at the event.
Senior Landin Clark led the way for the Raiders with a 3-2 record. He earned one win by fall and one by 9-3 decision. Sophomore Riley Benally was 2-3 on the weekend with one win by fall.
Sophomore Lance Tsinigine won a match by 9-6 decision and went 1-1 for the Raiders. Sophomore Dante Silas was 2-3 and senior Lucas Collins went 1-2 at the tournament.
Amazingly, after almost two months off over the Christmas break Whitehorse will wrestle most of the remainder of their schedule this week.
They travel to Monticello on Wednesday, January 17 to compete against several teams. They’ll compete in the Sand Devil Classic in Page, AZ this Friday and Saturday, January 19-20.
Then they’ll close out the regular season with their only home dual of the season next Wednesday, January 24.
