Visitor guide available online at sjr101.com

You can find copies of 101 Ways to Experience San Juan County all over San Juan County and wherever San Juan Record subscribers are found. Now, you can find the San Juan Record Visitor’s Guide on the internet as well, at sjr101.com.
An interactive website featuring the guide was made active in recent days, with versions tailored to desktop and mobile devices. It highlights the 64-page publication with easy-to-navigate pages, including live links to advertisers.
The website will help make the visitor’s guide and the advertisers more accessible to local residents and visitors alike.
Jared Berrett and the crew at Four Corners Digital Design are putting the finishing touches on the website.
The visitors guide was first published in 2014 and each new version is reaching a wider audience. For 2016, there are 14,000 copies printed. They can be found in local stores, restaurants, motels, and visitor centers.
“Even though 101 Ways was released just two weeks ago, we have already had lots of positive feedback,” said San Juan Record Editor Bill Boyle. “Many local residents are taking the challenging and competing for the prizes.”
The guide lists 101 destinations or events, and local residents can earn points by visiting the site. There are additional points available for those who delve a little deeper.
The grand prize winner receives a jeeping or rafting adventure from Four Corners Adventures. The next highest point totals receive dinner at a local restaurant of your choice, and the remainder receive sjr101 travel bags.
Patty Lyman was the big winner in 2015, with Deanna Walker close behind. Organizers expect a robust competition again in 2016, with nearly 400 points available for participants.
“Go out and have a great time,” said Boyle. “The prize for the top finishers is just the icing on the cake.”
“We have already been out several times and have had a great time,” said Boyle, who added, “probably the most interesting stop is the tunnel under Highway 191 at Muleshoe Canyon. It is listed under #3, the Spanish Trail.”
Sorry Boyle family, but San Juan Record employees and their immediate families are not eligible for the prizes.
In addition to the summer program, awards are offered to anyone who has completed all 101 events in their lifetime.
“Check out the list, see what you have done over the years, and earn the final few sites,” said Boyle. “We have awesome travel bags for everyone who completes the challenge in their lifetime.”
