Public Invited to Tour the Farmington New Mexico Temple

An antique Navajo rug is part of the art included in the decor of the Farmington, New Mexico Temple, which has a Native American southwest theme. A public open house for the Farmington New Mexico Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will run from July 17 to August 2 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, excluding Sundays.

Human-caused Deer Creek Fire burns 17,00 acres with containment exceeding 50 percent

An army of first responders, local volunteers, and professional firefighters are finally turning the tide in the battle against the Deer Creek Fire, which has burned 17,000 acres (26.5 square miles) since July 11. There were 581 firefighters onsite on July 22. Utah Fire Info photo

The Deer Creek Fire in old La Sal is now at 17,184 acres burned but has seen containment rise to 54 percent as of the report on the morning of July 22.
