Graduation for Class of 2020 to take place virtually this week
In one of the most unexpected conclusions to a school year ever, area students are set to receive diplomas this week from the five San Juan School District high schools.
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in at-home education during the entire fourth quarter of the school year.
While the hundreds of local high school graduates will not have a traditional commencement service, there will be virtual ceremonies during the week.
Online graduation services will be released at the following times:
Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. for Monticello High School. See more here.
Thursday, May 21 at 2 p.m. for San Juan High School. See more here.
Friday, May 22 at 2 p.m. for Monument Valley High School. See more here.
Saturday, May 23 at 9 a.m. for Whitehorse High School. See more here.
Tuesday, May 26 for Navajo Mountain High School. See more here.
The digital events will be available on-line and at the San Juan Record website at www.sjrnews.com.
In addition, the Monticello High School Lariat will be published on the San Juan Record website.
