The #1 seed Monument Valley Lady Cougars opened the 1A Utah State Tournament with a 64-28 victory over region foe Pinnacle to start the tournament on February 28.
On the opening day of the state tournament, the #14-seeded Buckaroos drew the #3 seed (and eventual state champions) from Panguitch.
The #14 seed Monticello girls basketball team were defeated by the #3 seed Rich Rebels 53-12 to open the state tournament on February 28.
The #12 seed Whitehorse Raiders opened the state tournament on February 28 playing against the #5 seed Wendover Wildcats. The Raiders battled, but lost 80-56 to the Wildcats.
The #7 seed Whitehorse girls opened the tournament on February 28 earning a 51-44 victory over #10 seed Valley.
Joe Wesley Vancil, age 96, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at St Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. He passed after a brief illness with his family at his side.
